Tara Calico disappeared without a trace. Then, nearly a year later, a Polaroid photo was found in a convenience store parking lot. The photo was of a young woman and boy, bound and gagged. It is believed that she was the woman in the photo.

Colleen Stan, the Girl in the Box

Hitchhiking is rarely a good idea. I’d venture so far as to say never a good idea. We see examples of this when we look at serial killers, Ed Kemper and Ivan Milat. We see this in movies, such as The Hitcher. Unfortunately, in 1977, people weren’t as aware of the dangers of hitchhiking. So when Colleen Stan set out to travel from Oregon to California, she didn’t expect what happened next.

Human Leather?

After coming across a post on Instagram claiming that during the French Revolution, the government allowed the bodies of those guillotined to be skinned and tanned, and then turned into various goods, such as boots, pants, and jackets. The post also claimed that the skin of a man was preferred for fashion, because the skin of a woman was too soft to be useful. Is there any truth to the claim? Is there a market for Human Leather?

This Is Lisa, a Girl’s Imaginary Friend

Imaginary Friends are a psychological and social phenomenon where a friendship takes place in the imagination rather in physical reality. To the person, usually a child, the friend is real, and they often get frustrated when others can’t see their friend. Often, as they grow older, children lose their imaginary friends, whether that friend leaves, or is simply forgotten over time, we may never know. For one little girl, she shared her imaginary friend with the world when she first wrote, “This is Lisa.”
